Andy tells himself he's just frustrated.

That's the excuse he clings to every time Derek Kage walks away before giving him what he's been waiting for. The anger comes easier now, but so does the silence that follows whenever Derek asks the questions Andy can't answer.

Every encounter leaves him more restless than the last. The tension keeps building, impossible to ignore, yet admitting why feels more dangerous than anything Derek could do to him.

Derek already knows.

He watches the cracks spread a little farther with every passing minute, reading the reactions Andy can't control and the words he almost says before swallowing them back down. The boy insists nothing is wrong, but Derek can see how quickly normal life has faded into the background.

Andy still refuses to admit what he wants.

The problem is... he's starting to miss it before it's even over.
