With the economy reeling and crime running rampant, the United States has become a police state. Mark Johnson, a 19-year-old from a depressed rural area, is caught stealing food. Mark has been sentenced to 70 lashes, 50 as part of his punishment for a petty crime and 20 for questioning orders. He's strung-up naked, completely helpless, shaking in fear. As each lash crashes into Mark's body, first on his back, then his front, the man counts over the speaker, "One, two ... forty ... fifty ...."
